Cannabis or ganja is associated with worship of the Hindu deity Shiva.

The Rastafari consider the plant to be the Tree of Life, because it cleans the body and mind, heals the soul, exalts the consciousness, facilitates peacefulness, brings pleasure, and brings them closer to Jah.
